Okay I see that people in the livejournal community have the same problem as some other stupid site with OTHERKIN PESTILENCE, running amok there.

Apparently the online community I joined, is all about SUPPORTING PEOPLE and creating a HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT FOR PEOPLE to DEVELOP AS PEOPLE.

My problem with that stupid site's motto, is that LIKE they do with otherkin at livejournal, they try to ENFORCE retardism, by allowing people with otherkin syndrome to PLAGUE the internet to run away from their problems and taking it out on other people...and HOW ARE THEY POSSIBLY SUPPORTING them by encouraging this type of behaviour...when they actually create a perfect breeding ground for TROLLS by allowing this RPG shit to get totally out of hand, when they take their ONLINE ROLEPLAYING far too seriously and actually start to believe it, it is then when the TROLLING AND HARASSMENT START... i just do not see how online communities are helping these sick individuals by helping them to escape from their problems BY GETTING SKEPTICS REMOVED who can actually help them grow as people...

but sad story is THAT OTHERKIN do not seek to grow or develop as people so the whole MOTTO of that site is totally HYPOCRITICAL if you ask me...albeit not a total otherkin community, it has groups, which include otherkin roleplaying groups.

Any case I JUST DO NOT SEE how they make the world a better place by allowing people to ESCAPE FROM THEIR PROBLEMS by allowing them to be malicious trolls who CAN TROLL other people BUT WHO CANNOT HANDLE BEING TROLLED BACK and flagging them.

It just shows how fucked up the entire internet community is, whichever allows this otherkin bullshit to thrive - moderate the skeptics because the OTHERKIN troll and flag them BECAUSE THEY MAKE THEM FEEL TERRIBLY INSECURE...boo hoo wtf?

Otherkin is at its very best, possibly a poorly thought out defense mechanism, children, starting in the late seventies and continuing on to present day have been subjected to, nay bombarded with, a diet of absolutely unattainable fantasy worlds during their youth. Consider that, with the dull and hostile world we all live in, no wonder some escapists become so neurotic they have to believe that they aren’t human.

And its only a successful defense mechanism, as Gerbilsage and Max have so recently pointed out, if you don’t go parading it all over the place like you were the bloody queen of England. Because once you do that, you have to defend your belief system from attacks both real and imagined. 

Some Otherkin are so unsure and defensive of their cobweb-fine belief systems that they have to lash out at anything that ‘damages their believability’ not to the outside world, no. But to themselves. 

Because you see an insecure Otherkin is his own worst enemy. Believe it or not, most Otherkin are actually fairly intelligent, so any time they actually allow their brains to switch on, they start to disbelieve themselves. Every time they see an Otakukin it reminds them, that their idea is just as nuts, and they go to any lengths to distinguish the difference in their own mind, to keep the delicate balance that is their ‘self-esteem’.

Believe it or not, even if you DO have the soul of an elf from another dimension, you wouldn’t need to believe it, or think about it, or seek validation, if you were a successful, self-assured person.

Otherkin is first and foremost a crutch. It is a belief structure that allows some fairly sad and insecure people to get through their day with a smile on their face. Tearing down an Otherkin beliefs is really a lot like throwing rocks at midgets. And its stupid. Yes, you’re taller than the midget, we get that.

But I am tired of being told I ‘lose’ or ‘fail’ by internet trolls who think they’re so damned much smarter than me. Its not even funny anymore. And Yes, I’ll admit it, at one point it was funny. But this is no longer that point. Its old, like targeting retards. Funny, but ultimately unhelpful.

It doesn’t make any sense that such overtly hostile behavior is allowed, and even tangentially rewarded here on this community. While I understand the desire for a contrasting view point, I was under the impression that the moderated membership intended to separate out people who just wanted to come in and stir up a shit storm. 

It seems to me that this community exists for two purposes, to vindicate and reinforce the belief structure of people who need to think they are elves, faeries, or dragons, and to give people like Gerbilsage and Crazy Maxwell something to chuckle at. I really wish the information page of the club reflected that.
